VENUS
A figure of rounded, sensual form, carved in sandstone, reinterpreting the classical ideal of Venus through a contemporary, organic language. The solid, curvilinear body contrasts with a helmeted head reminiscent of a diving mask or a futuristic helm, blurring the line between the human, the primitive, and the technological.
On its back it carries a diving apparatus carved with the same organic detail as the rest of the body, as though the object were part of its own anatomy. The crossed arms and hands gripping the harness create a withdrawn, almost ritual posture.
Set on its circular base, the piece plays with classical sculptural memory and transforms it into a creature suspended between the archaic and the speculative: an eternal body prepared to explore worlds that do not yet exist.
One-of-a-kind stone piece, signed by Ganga.
